Al & Kirsten, destination Door County, WI
Here is the sneak peak for Al and Kirsten's beautiful wedding that took place at the amazing Gordon Lodge in Door County, WI. I was extremely impressed with the location of the ceremony and reception site and highly recommend Gordon Lodge to anyone looking for a location for their big day.
I was super impressed with all the details that Kirsten put so much hard work into. Her beautiful dress was designed by Angel Sanchez, and Sugar Pear Design made the invites and did the awesome calligraphy on the place cards or what was actually "place rocks." At the start of the ceremony each guest was given a rock that Al and Kirsten had collected themselves of the shores of Lake Michigan. Each guest placed their rock in a large glass bowl at the end of the ceremony which symbolized a wish, dream, or prayer that they had for the bride and groom. I thought this was a really unique idea for Al and Kirsten to keep for the rest of their lives.
Cheers to Al and Kirsten's new lives together and my new favorite venue. Happy viewing!

ty & theresa "Day After Session" in Alaska
Ty and Theresa hired me all the way from Anchorage, Alaska to shoot their "Day After Session." You might be thinking, "What is a Day After Session?"
Day After Sessions are when a Bride and Groom get dressed in the their best, a day or several days after their wedding for a photo shoot. There are many reasons why a Day After Shoot might be something to add to your wedding package. Timing and creativity are the two main reasons why these sessions are such a great idea. If you aren't able to schedule enough time for just you and your sweetie on your big day because of the ceremony and reception times or maybe that awesome location is just too far away, a Day After Sessions can cure your worries! Or if you can't afford your favorite photographer for your whole day, get a day after session for a fraction of the cost and still get amazing images of you and your sweetie. (Men ... great gift for your new bride!!!)
Back to Ty and Theresa. I had a great time with you. Thank you for showing me your favorite spots in and around Anchorage. Here is another example of not all being lost if it is raining on your day or if it is cloudy. The first part of our session started in and around the Anchorage airport because of the rain. Then when the skies cleared we headed outdoors to really find some Alaska backdrops. And wow, it just kept getting better and better as we drove down the highway. Amazing! Almost "Lord of the Rings" meets "007" look coming at you as they stood on the mountain top and in the big ocean drain! What fabulous locations.
Don't forget to watch the slide show below to see the full session. Cheers to Ty and Theresa. Thank you for all the fun. Em

matt & annabelle
"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I would never live without you."
This was a quote taken from Matt and Annabelle's invite to their fabulous day at Cedar Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells.
They had the best weather I had worked in all season. Warm, but not sweaty. Breezy, but not wind blown. Sunny, with a hint of clouds and shade. Oh, and a perfect location to top it off. The Cedar Lodge was perfect for the ceremony and reception. As for details, Annabelle's Mom worked super hard on the decorations, and it really paid off. She collected blue and clear mason jars for the last year in preparation to us them as candle holders, vases, and drinking glasses. It looked amazing. I especially loved that everyone drank from such a unique glass and that the blue jars hung from the trees with tea lights in them. The glow from the blue jars after the sun went down was fabulous. Their flower of choice was simple daisies, which were perfect for the location and decor. All the details worked with each other which made "the look" perfect!
To top the day off Matt and Annabelle were a delight to work with on their big day. Everything fell right into place and their love for each other sparkled through. I just loved the way Matt would stare at Annabelle. It was like nothing else was around except her.
Thanks for a great day. We had an awesome time. Cheers to your love, Em
